It’s been a labor of love here at Bud’s Cabins and Motel, were slowly getting into the routine of running and managing a resort.
Our trout season was super, we enjoy seeing all our fishermen and hearing their tall tales, and meeting all the new guests that stop in for a look see and a tour of the cabins and our motel. We are getting calls for trout reservations on a regular basis and hope that if you are looking for a place to stay you will consider Bud’s. We have a large group coming in for a family re-union the third week of June and again, call soon. We only have two openings left in July at Bud’s. If you’re thinking of July, book soon. August is beginning to fill in, as is September, which has more bookings for our fishermen. October is filling up nicely for our bird hunters and November is nearly full for deer season. We hope we can get some more snowmobiles in here for the winter months; they’re a hardy group of people that really enjoy the winter season in Northern Michigan. I am sad to say that we haven’t had any ice fishermen, cross country skiers or snow shoers here this winter. We have many different lakes near by to ice fish and trails for snowshoeing as well as places to cross country ski. Hope To See You Soon! Blessings To All, Your Hosts at Bud’s Cabins and Motel Robert and Connie King email: budscabins@core.com Phone: 989-348-8400 Cell: 989-858-6421 We would like to show you the 2007deer hunters who got their bucks while hunting in our area here at Lovell’s. Our first hunter to get his buck was Chris Reimer from Pontiac, Mi. The second hunter was Don Lash who is from Bellaire, Mi. and last but not least, was Mike Carpenter who is from Sterling Heights,Mi. These avid deer hunters have already booked for the 2008 deer season. Just to let everyone know we have put in a new raised septic system down at the river. What a difference that makes. Sad to say we lost a lot of our parking area down at the cabins, we are in the process of fixing that "small" problem. Also installed new furnaces in all the cabins and everyone comments on how cozy they are now. Put in a new well here at the main house and ran 650 feet of under ground water pipe to supply all the cabins at the river and ran pipe to the motel as well as the main house and the old store since we are going to try and open that in June. We have upgraded all the electric thru out the complex .We have one cabin painted and most of the motel and one wall on the garage and the main house. As always, everything takes longer and plans often take second fiddle to other more important “things” that tend to pop up out of the blue. Hopefully, business will continue to be great for “2008” so that we may continue to make more needed upgrades here at Bud’s Cabins & Motel. Will close for now and hope to hear from anyone planning on vacationing in the "great up north" of Michigan. |
